ISLAMABAD: Security sources have rejected recent Western media reports linking Pakistan’s military cooperation with Saudi Arabia to current regional tensions, describing such coverage as incomplete and lacking proper context.
According to Beyond Time News, the clarification came after a Reuters report claimed Pakistan had deployed thousands of troops, fighter jets, and air defence systems to Saudi Arabia under a mutual defence arrangement.
Officials said the report failed to reflect the long-standing and institutional nature of defence cooperation between the two countries, which has developed over decades through formal agreements and strategic coordination.
Security sources stressed that Pakistan-Saudi military relations are not temporary or reactionary, but part of a stable and enduring partnership built on mutual trust and shared interests.
According to Beyond Time News, officials said attempts to connect routine military cooperation with changing regional developments create a misleading narrative about the relationship between the two allies.

They added that Pakistan and Saudi Arabia share deep religious, cultural, political, and economic ties that extend far beyond current geopolitical circumstances.
The two countries have maintained close defence cooperation for years through joint military exercises, training programs, security coordination, and strategic consultations.
Analysts say the partnership continues to play an important role in regional stability and reflects the strong bilateral ties between Islamabad and Riyadh.
