Pakistan’s oil and gas sector recorded steady gains in April, supported by improved output from key fields and energy companies.
According to Beyond Time News, gas production rose 4.5% week-on-week to 3,079 million cubic feet per day (MMCFD), driven by higher output from fields including Uch, Qadirpur, and Shiva.
Oil Output Also Increases
Crude oil production increased by 2.7%, reaching 72,167 barrels per day. The rise was supported by improved performance from multiple fields, including KPD and others.
Strong Field Performance
Several fields showed notable growth:
- Bargzai field: +15.3% oil production
- Kunnar Pasakhi Deep: +29% increase
- Sharif field: strong gains in output
Oil slips even as US winter storm curbs crude output
Company-Wise Growth
Major energy companies also reported improved production:
- Oil and Gas Development Company (OGDCL): +3.6% oil, +6.8% gas
- Mari Petroleum: +37.5% oil, +4.2% gas
- Pakistan Petroleum Limited (PPL): +1.5% oil
Conclusion
The overall rise in production reflects a gradual recovery in Pakistan’s upstream energy sector, with both state-run companies and major fields contributing to improved output levels.
