Srinagar: Indian police have attached the property of a Kashmiri activist in Sopore, located in Baramulla district of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK).
According to Kashmir Media Service, the action was carried out on the orders of the New Delhi-appointed administration led by Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha under the controversial Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA).
Authorities attached nearly 10 marlas of land worth around Rs2 million in the Kehnusa area of Bandipora district.

Since the revocation of IIOJK’s special status in August 2019, the BJP-led Indian government has intensified property seizures across the occupied territory. Critics say these actions aim to economically weaken Kashmiris and alter the region’s demographic structure by facilitating the settlement of non-locals on confiscated land.
Observers believe the latest move forms part of a broader crackdown on Kashmiris demanding a resolution to the Kashmir dispute in line with relevant UN resolutions.
